The new Master of Arts in Early Childhood Studies offered by National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), is designed to support emerging professional roles within the broader ECEC sector and to prepare existing practitioners for future opportunities.
It offers a progression route for students of NUI Galway’s part-time BA in Early Childhood Studies and Practice but is also open to graduates of other institutions.
The course is offered on a part-time blended learning basis over two years. It is designed to complement and support continued employment.
Students will be expected to attend a number of full day workshops throughout each academic year (September to May). In the main, these workshops will be held on Saturdays, with higher weighted modules requiring an additional two or three Friday workshops each year. Dates for all workshops will be provided to students at the commencement of each academic year. It is expected that the first intake of students workshops will take place in Galway.
